This recipe came from Judy about 15 years ago. The dough holds together perfectly. Cookies can be small or giant. It's a pretty small recipe only making about 8 giant cookies. Double or triple if you wish. Preheat oven to 325.
1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional, good with raisins) Mix above ingredients together. Use a second bowl for the wet ingredients. 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 1/4 cup vegetable oil (substitute butter if you wish) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar Cream together then mix in the following: 1 egg 2 tbsp milk or water 1 tsp vanilla Gradually add flour mixture to the wet ingredients, combine and then add: 2 cups oatmeal 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips or nuts
Form into 6-8 giant cookies on cookie sheets. Leave space for them to spread. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes.
