PINK SALAD
This is Grandma Lillian's famous (famous to the Reimers) sweet fruit salad.
It's always served at holidays like Easter and at summer picnics. It tastes like dessert but is served with the main meal!
INGREDIENTS:
1 L COOL WHIP
1 L cottage cheese
1 large box Strawberry Jello powder
(or 2 - 85g boxes, raspberry works too)
1 large can fruit cocktail, drained
1 can pineapple tidbits, drained
1 banana sliced in bite size pieces
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced, optional
You can add any combination of fruit you like.
DIRECTIONS:
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl with a spatula or large spoon, about an hour or two before you are serving it. Cover and refrigerate. Leftovers do keep for a few days in the fridge.
***Note- Jello goes in as powder, do not try to make the Jello with water
