ROASTED ONIONS
This idea comes from my fabulous friend Rachael.
You will be amazed at how easy, sweet and delicious these are! My whole family loves these and they are always a hit when served to friends.
1 medium onion per person, peeled and ends trimmed
BBQ method: Wrap each onion in aluminum foil. Place in a hot BBQ directly on the grate and roast for about 45 min - 1 hour until tender.
Oven method #1: Wrap each onion in aluminum foil. Place on a baking sheet or directly onto the oven rack and bake at 350 for about an hour.
Oven method #2: Place all of the onions in a covered glass casserole dish in a single layer and bake them at 350 for about an hour.
These are so good with just a sprinkle of salt. For an added treat, a pat of butter can be placed on the hot onion just before serving!
